It might not be Pantone's beloved color of the year, but around these parts, mauve is having a pretty major moment. A close cousin of blush pink and plum, this subtle hue is making its way into more and more wedding palettes, and Swoon Floral Design is showing us how it's done. From Swoon Floral Design.... Lately, I have been crushing hard on the color Mauve. Can it please be the new blush?! I love how it elevates many different color palettes and I wanted to create a shoot that showcased this gorgeous hue. I chose to combine it with deep plum, lavender, pops of nude and peach, with gold accents. It is such an unexpected, moody palette for spring. It was important to me that the overall feel was soft, elegant and refined, nothing overdone or gaudy. Fine Art Film Photographer, Jamie Rae Photo, captured the essence of this shoot perfectly.

The velvet linen from La Tavola is such a showstopper. It laid a beautiful foundation for the brass candlesticks, gold rimmed china, and lush, feminine florals. Much of my floral selection was directed by the season. I love how delicate spring blooms are and knew I wanted to include some of my favorites such as sweet pea, fritillaria, hellebores, and ranunculus. Another favorite element of this shoot was the gorgeous cake by Sainte G. It was the perfect mauve color with hand painted gold accents. It really only needed simple floral adornment. Each creative involved did such a wonderful job capturing the refined, elegance of this shoot and we're thrilled with the result.
